Dear Students -

Please go to the above link, read the material and answer the following questions in your notebook:

1. -Why did Europeans (Christopher Columbus) set sail to the WEST? Explain their main objective(s). Please explain it in a short paragraph.
2. Christopher Columbus had a clue about his voyage, however it was a fantastic coincidence that discovered America instead of reaching Asia (The Indies). Why would CAUSALITY (CAUSE AND CONSEQUENCE) be an appropiate related concept to this event? Please explain it in a short paragraph.
3. The reading material states that "Shortly after landing, many of the island's inhabitants assembled on the beach and Columbus gave them gifts of red hats and beads. The natives reciprocated with gifts of parrots, cotton and other goods. 
At the beginning the relationship between Europeans and Local Natives was equal and warm. As years went on, what happened to this relationship? Please explain it in short paragraph.
